Our Pastor

Jim Silvey

Pastor Jim has pastored PBC for 35 years.Jim was raised in a strong Christian home in Vista, California. He received Christ as a 3-yr old and at the age of 12 surrendered to Christ to do whatever He wanted. This led Jim to Biola University to graduate with a BA in biblical Studies and to Western Conservative Baptist Seminary in Portland, OR, graduating with a Master of Divinity degree. During his schooling he met and married his beautiful bride Lynda who supports and serves with him in the ministry.

Upon graduating from Western in June 1985, Jim and Lynda packed up and moved to Pinedale to pastor a new congregation of 30 people. They brought with them a passion for teaching God's Word, pastoring the church, reaching youth, music, missions and team ministry. These continue to be true today.

Under Pastor Jim's leadership the church adopted by-laws, chose elders, bought a building to meet in, out-grew it, purchased property outside of town, built a new facility in 2008 and added the Sanctuary in 2015. Most importantly, souls have been saved and lives have been changed. Pastor Jim focuses on expositional preaching through books of the Bible focusing on God's grace and truth.

Pastor Jim and Lynda have 2 children, Jeremiah and Christina both of whom are married with children, who they love and are devoted to. Jim likes to hunt all big game (as does Lynda) and enjoys participating in a variety of recreation and sports. Lynda enjoys music-playing many different instruments and singing as well as teaching in her music studio.

Our Leadership

Pinedale Bible Church government is vested in lay Elders and our Pastoral Elder. These lay elders, along with Pastor Jim, lead and manage both the spiritual and temporal affairs of the Church.
